Summit Chiropractic
Re: Patient of the Month

Thank you very much for honoring me as your "Patient of the Month" for October 2003. Being selected from your patient base for this designation means a lot to me and I thank all of you for it.

For most of my life I hated the thought of going to a chiropractor. All I could think of was hearing that "Crack" and then I just knew I wouldn't be able to move ever again. Fortunately, I have been receiving treatment from Brad for the last year and I am still moving. Not only am I still moving but also I am moving with a wider range of motion and without pain.

I have suffered from chronic neck pain since I was a child. The pain came and went. Typically, I would sleep funny and wake up with significant pain and be virtually unable to turn my head. Usually the pain and stiffness would last three or four days and then start to disappear so I would just deal with it until the next time. Late last summer I experienced the normal stiff neck but this time three weeks passed and it still didn't go away. A co-worker recommended Summit Chiropractic and the pain was enough that I was willing to check it out.

On my first appointment Meredith completed my initial scan and took x-rays. The second time I came in Brad met with me to review my scan and discuss a treatment plan. The long black arrows were a clear indication that I had issues not only in my neck but also in my lower back. At that time I was unable to begin a full treatment plan so Brad was able to provide some initial treatments to relieve the immediate pain and prevent further deterioration.

In January I began three adjustments and a massage each week for three months. I was dealing with a very stressful time in my life and I thought there was no way I would be able to commit that much time. I hadn't even been able to do the things I liked that often much less go to a doctor. However, the office staff made it very convenient to schedule appointments around my personal schedule. Everyone was (and is) so friendly that it became a positive way to start my days and I started feeling better.

Not only did I feel better and have a better range of motion but the follow-up scans confirmed that positive change was happening. My most recent scan showed quite a bit of symmetry and only a little bit of green and blue. I wasn't sure about the connection between a healthy spine and your overall health but I have to say that I have not experienced a cold and my sinuses have been hardly noticeable this year. In the past year I feel like my health has definitely improved while under the treatment at Summit Chiropractic. I feel like I have made new friendships rather than just being a patient in a file.

I no longer dread the "Crack" but instead look forward to it! Thanks Brad and everyone.
